Workshop Hints

Require registration and/or set a cap for maximum number of attendees

Schedule sessions for approximately 15 minutes longer than you anticipate the course to take

Advertise at least 3 weeks in advance

Send reminders (if possible)

If more than 10 registered participants, schedule 2nd instructor (if possible)

Arrive 15-20 minutes in advance to workshop location to ensure all technology is working properly

Display learning objectives and contact information

Provide handout
-
Introduce yourself and state learning objectives

Encourage questions throughout session

Encourage participants to help each other

Teach at a pace that assumes a small amount of technology knowledge

Incorporate BOTH “follow-along” instruction and personal application of the tool

Allow last 15 minutes for questions and clarification

Make yourself available after the session in person and through email and phone

Pass out voluntary evaluation forms
